The PestSmart platform distils over a decade of pest animal research into practical and accessible best-practice pest management information, available online. The toolkit currently holds more than 200 factsheets, case studies, reports and technical guides on 16 established pest animals plus information on new and emerging species.
This site is a deliverable of the Centre for Invasive Species Solutions (CISS) project Po1-E-008 ‘Development of National Invasive Species Management’ digital information platform’ led by Dr Ian McDonald with major support from Briarbird consultants, who facilitated the stakeholder workshops, surveys and focus groups to help understand user needs and requirements. The project received funding from the Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Water and Environment.
The site has been designed and developed by Plural Agency.
We’d also like to thank those who assisted in its development through a user survey undertaken in March 2019 and a focus group in Orange, NSW in October 2019 with landholders, researchers, policy analysts and extension officers (private and public)
