Connect: Queensland

In Queensland, the responsibility for pest animal control rests with the landholder and local governments have a responsibility to manage the approach through their pest management planning.

Your first point of call for pest animal issues should be your local government. Use this interactive map or search the Qld Local Government Directory for specific details at.

Industry organisations such as AgForce Queensland may provide training, events or programs for specific issues such as wild dog control.

The 14 regional Natural Resource Management (NRM) groups may also provide advice, assistance and programs at a regional level.

Biosecurity Queensland (Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry) is responsible for coordinating the management of pest impacts of introduced mammals, reptiles and amphibians, as well as dingoes, locusts, ants and fish on a state-wide scale.

The map shown is divided into the 14 NRM regions. Click on a region of interest to find out more about groups, agencies and organisations in that region involved in pest animal management.

Some regions are yet to be populated with local group details. We aim to provide contact details of agencies, organisations and groups that are active in pest animal management and can provide people with services, useful advice or assistance – both at policy and practical on-ground levels. If you would like your group or agency listed, please [ CLICK HERE ] to fill out the form and submit your details.
