Feral goats in the rangelands of Western Australia contribute to increased total grazing pressure resulting in overuse of the land and soil erosion leading to the degradation of the rangeland environment. In 1991 the Feral Goat Eradication Program (FGEP) was launched in the rangelands of Western Australia. A critical element in any large project life cycle is the evaluation of its impact in achieving objectives. The results of a survey of pastoralist attitudes towards this program and to total grazing management provide key insights into the successes of the FGEP and potential areas for improvement.
